The Diet Trend: Apple Cider Vinegar

It is one of the biggest trends when it comes to detox drinks–Apple Cider Vinegar. For those who haven’t tried it yet, the thought of drinking Vinegar may sound gross, but I promise it isn’t as bad as it seems. ACV drinks has been said to promote weight loss, but isn’t it a little too good to be true? Well, worry no more, Dr. Oz has put Apple Cider Vinegar drinks to the test!

Dr. Oz had a segment on his show featuring nutritionist, JJ Smith. JJ Smith had posted a YouTube video about ACV drinks, and it turned into a viral sensation. Along with Dr. Oz, Smith had explained that Apple Cider Vinegar actually contains tons of benefits. This particular ingredient has the ability to get rid of bad fats, let the good fats “thrive,” helps get rid of bloating, exhaustion, it can help recover from a cheat day, and overall is a great addition to your diet.

So, how do you take the ACV? It can be hard to swallow due to the taste, but there are various recipes to try, so you’re not suffering the taste. Smith and Oz recommend to take 2-3 teaspoons a day before meals, or you have the option to mix it within your meals. You should include ACV in your diet a few times a week for an entire month as well. Please do not drink ACV straight, that does not help your insides at all. I personally find it convenient to dilute it in water, and I just drink one small glass a day; another way you can mix it is with honey and lemon juice. Most people only turn to ACV for weight loss, but it can assist with clearing skin, detangling hair, and even boost your immune system.

I highly recommend that when you are trying new detox drinks or ingredients in your diet, do as much research as possible and get the pros and cons. By completing research, you can find different recipes, and uses that can benefit your health even better. I had been frustrated because I kept finding different answers about ACV drinks, but finding more information through Dr. Oz’s show really helped me fully understand what I’m putting into my body.
