Another month has passed, which means it’s time for my monthly book count post! Listen, I’ve been anticipating this post, because I am so excited to share with you all the amazing books I’ve read! I really hope you all try these books, and enjoy them as much as I did.
A Simple Favor by Darcey Bell
OH. MY. GOSH.
Secrets are a tricky obstacle to overcome, and for main characters, Emily and Stephanie, secrets are quite the tangled web! Does Emily really lead the glamorous life that Stephanie believes she does? Does Stephanie have the moral capacity in her to be ruthless? Just when you think the twists and turns have gotten wild, there’s only more to come. I highly recommend this book, and see the movie! Both are equally as good!
The Alice Network by Kate Quinn
I found this book to be surprisingly well written! Charlie St. Clair who is a young girl, has been on a struggling path finds a need to search for her missing cousin Rose. On the other hand, Eve Gardiner is a former spy who for years has been running from a dark past. When the two unlikely characters come together, it becomes an adventure that’ll push both women to be their own hero. Though this book is almost 500 pages, it’s filled with inspiration for women and lessons in history that’ll change your perspective.
Girl Last Seen by Nina Laurin
Laine has suffered a tortured past when she was kidnapped, but escaped. 13 years later, another girl, Olivia, has gone missing…is it the same kidnapper? Another fantastic book with seamless twists and turns leads readers onto a journey to discover what really happened to Olivia, and will Laine overcome the trouble that has come back to haunt her? This is a book you won’t want to put down.
Next on The Book Count:
I’m currently finishing Girl Last Seen, which like I’ve mentioned is fantastic! The books I have planned next are Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon and Life is Short, Don’t Wait to Dance by Valorie Kondos Field. I’m so excited to see what these next books are about. While finishing Girl Last Seen, I’ve started Whiskey in a Teacup. So far, I’ve been enjoying Reese Witherspoon’s writing and her take on southern living. I’d continue to tell you about Whiskey in a Teacup, but I don’t want to spoil it for you!
I hope you all enjoy this post, and try to read on the books I’ve discussed! I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
Dying to read A Simple Favor! The movie looks good but I want to read the book before I see it!

Both are AMAZING! I do recommend reading it first. You know, the movie always has to be a tad different haha

The Alice Network as been in my Audible wish list since it’s release and for some reason I just am not sure about it. Your review has made it clear that I need to listen to this book!
I had not heard of the other 2 books as my preferred genre is Historical Fiction but they sound interesting and I am adding them to my list for the times when I want a change of pace.
Thank you for sharing!

I felt the same! I follow Reese Witherspoon’s book club & this was one of her earlier picks. I kept avoiding it for some reason, but I decided to read it because I want to read all the books on her list. I’m telling ya, it’s definitely worth it!
I hope you enjoy if you decide to read them!

I bought the Alice Network a while ago and it’s sat on my bookshelf. I might have to get reading it soon. Like the sound of the others too. Always looking for my next 25 books to read!
